  • The event started with a minute of silence for Atta Elayyan and the other victims of the Christchurch terror attacks on March 15. Elayyan is one of CIO50 leaders and he was cited for his work as CEO of LWA Solutions. Murray Will, founder of Maxsys, led the tribute

  • Dr Marcus Blosch, research VP at Gartner, spoke about the CIO agenda for 2019 and beyond

  • Mike Bullock, general manager, public sector sales at Datacom, spoke about the frameworks organisations are using to boost productivity and innovation

  • Andrew Hurt, managing director, Australia and New Zealand for Poly, discussed creating workspaces and equipping these with technologies and tools to help people collaborate and become more productive

  • Transpower CIO Cobus Nel talked about accelerating transformation and innovation for the digital era

  • Lani Evans, manager Vodafone New Zealand Foundation and Andrew Sutherland of Zeal receive the award for best ICT-enabled community programme

  • Christina Bellis, CEO of ThankYou Payroll, receives the highly commended award for best ICT-enabled community programme

  • Mike Bullock of Datacom, Paul Littlefair of LIC, number 2 in the CIO 50 list, and Divina Paredes of CIO NZ.
