  • Nick Olson is new Telecom CFO

    Telecom New Zealand has announced the appointment of Nick Olson as chief financial officer, effective in October.
    Olson has been with Telecom since 2002, first in the role of treasurer, moving to GM finance for four years, and most recently serving as group controller. He also served in an acting capacity as CFO in 2008.

  • Telecom NZ defers talk on Australia

    Telecom New Zealand's recently appointed chief executive Paul Reynolds has conceded the company's market position in Australia isn't sustainable in the long term and says competitive pressures are placing "extreme margin pressure" on its corporate IT division, Gen-i.
    However, Mr Reynolds told an ABN Amro-hosted presentation to institutional investors in Sydney last week that Telecom NZ would not make strategic decisions about whether to sell or develop parts of its Australian business until next year.

  • AAPT has a head for mergers

    A spokesman confirmed that AAPT general manager of technology and operations Bob Hennessy had been appointed to the newly created role of general manager of mergers and acquisitions, but declined to reveal more details.
    "We won't comment any further than that," the spokesman said.
